Eagle: My Essential Image

Eagle: My Essential Image Management Tool in 2024

CupiDesign Tools

1. Introduction

It is now 2025, but I want to share one of the tools I used the most in 2024 — Eagle. This image management tool has made my creative process much easier. Recently, I was looking for some Midjourney images over 2048 pixels to sell and upload to multiple platforms. With Eagle's search function, I could easily filter images by size, saving me a lot of time. Whenever I wanted to find specific colored background images, I just had to use the color filter, and Eagle quickly provided various image options. It's incredibly convenient.

In this age of generative AI, where everyone generates many images per day, having a better system is essential; otherwise, you can end up spending hours just searching for images. I don't think Finder on Mac is very effective if you have a messy desktop like some of my friends. The demand for quickly finding the right images has grown, and I believe Eagle is the perfect solution for that.

2. What is Eagle?

Software Background

Eagle is a tool thoughtfully designed by Augus, a Taiwanese developer/designer. 🇹🇼 I think Eagle is definitely a lifesaver and a must-have for graphic designers, UI/UX designers, illustrators, and content creators. 🎨 This software focuses on simplifying material management, allowing me to concentrate more on my creative work and access the inspiration or files I need quickly. ✨

Supported File Formats

Whether it's images, videos, or audio, Eagle handles everything with ease, making my asset library comprehensive. 📂 All my inspiration and reference materials are in one place, so I no longer have to switch between different tools. It also supports text files and various other formats, including website URLs. 🌐

For example, I save all my portfolio inspiration website links in one folder, all the tool URLs in another folder, and even a folder full of my affiliate links for quick access in Eagle. 📁

Another example is that I love saving all the design guideline PDFs in Eagle, so whenever I need a reference, I can quickly view the PDFs in Eagle as well (no more Adobe Acrobat!). 📄

3. Core Features of Eagle

Efficient Management and Organization

  • Multi-level Folder and Tag Management: Eagle allows me to create multi-level folders and tags, enabling quick access to the materials I need and eliminating a cluttered desktop. 📂✨ I love to set up tags such as "To-do" ✅ and "Done" ✔️ to remind me which files I need to edit.
  • Automatic Tagging and Duplicate Image Checking: This feature helps me avoid redundant storage and keeps my database clean, saving me the hassle of organizing. 🗂️🚫

Powerful Search and Filtering Capabilities

  • Various Filtering Options: As I mentioned, I can filter by size, keywords, colors, and more, making searches easy and enjoyable. 🔍🌈
  • Smart Folder Functionality: Automatically aggregates relevant materials, acting like my personal assistant and ensuring inspiration doesn't slip away. 🤖📥

Chrome Plugin for Quick Image Saving

Eagle offers a convenient Chrome plugin that allows you to drag and save any images you like from websites quickly. 🖱️💨 This feature streamlines the process, enabling you to capture inspiration on the fly. After saving, you can easily rename the images for better organization, making it simpler to see and manage your visuals as a creative professional. 🎨🔖

4. How I Use It

With Eagle, I can organize all my design inspiration, case studies, and materials for different projects. 📁✨ I love opening a project folder to save all the text info, design files, and even URLs as live website inspiration. There are many ways to use it, but Eagle makes it easy to find what I need quickly.

Currently, I store my entire database in Google Drive for easy backup, ensuring that my inspiration materials are never lost. ☁️🔒 For designers or anyone like me who sells images, Eagle is an excellent tool to have.

5. What's Even Better

There are some AI plugins/extensions, such as AI upscaling and AI background removal, that are continually improving. 🤖✨ Additionally, there are tools for compressing images and a community feature where you can explore others' inspirations, making it easy to find cool stuff in Eagle. 🌐💡

You'll need to discover all these features yourself, but I highly recommend you try the Eagle trial for 30 days, or simply BUY it, as you can purchase the lifetime version for just $34.95. 💵 It's super worth it and affordable, especially when most tools now require a subscription. I don't know how long this price will last before they switch to a subscription model, but as a UX/UI designer, I've already recommended it to many designer friends, and they all love it — it is part of my design process.

If you love it, you can get the lifetime version or try the 30-day trial here: Get Eagle
